The economic stimulus boondoggle was never about job creation. It was always about expanding government's role in our life. For more proof, that is, outside of what I've written before, I hand things over to the New York Post:

But not the federal government.
The Obama administration boasted yesterday that with $16 billion taken from you and given to others, 30,383 working Americans owe a hearty thanks of gratitude for their jobs.
